As someone who still thinks their first two albums are easily among the best works of the 1990s, I’ve written a lot about Weezer over the years. Written about my love of Weezer and Pinkerton, and my subsequent despondency over the castrated riffs of everything thereafter. They are a band that requires no introduction, since most listeners will bring their own personal history with the band to this track, the first single from Raditude, slated for an October 27th release date.
In a break from routine, I’ll let you form your own opinions about “(If You Are Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To.” I’ll just say that there is an almost Adam Ant-ish playfulness to the verse and that the chorus will have you singing along if you give it a few spins. Are the Slayer, Titanic, and Best Buy references a pale shadow of the old “I asked you to go to the Green Day concert / You said you’d never heard of them!”?

I spent a long time wanting weezer to be the band they were fifteen years ago. Then i got over myself and realized that the new stuff has its own charm. This is a great song and “raditude” is a great album name.

I’d never heard of them, either. Nobody writes me a song!

Well, it’s certainly better than Maladroit/Green/Red/(most of) Make Believe.
It actually sounds like Rivers put some effort into this song as opposed to playing the Gavin Rossdale card & making no sense.

It’s fun, but sounds like they’re blatantly trying too hard to have a big radio single. IMO, Green is a fantastic album – perfect power pop songs.

This songs strikes me as something that was written for Guitar Hero. All the parts are catchy as hell and changed up often enough to be fun to play.
